Corsair H60 - Not quite cheap enough. : Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CWCH100)
And the best bang for the buck too, not to mention this cooler makes your motherboard
look like the engine compartment on a new Mercedes Amg!
Designed to work for both Intel and Amd processors. The package includes all things you need
and the instructions are very clear. What you get with the H60 is a singular backplate for installation
on Intel 1366/1156/1155 systems and a detach set of brackets for Amd Am2/3 users. The H60 comes ready
for Intel systems, to make the switch to Amd you naturally remove 4 screws on the installation installed arms
and replace them with the Amd equivalent. Total installation time should run you between 10-15 minutes,
or if you have the manual dexterity of a rehab outpatient like me, it will take about 4 beers.
Radiator installation is much easier, four screws are passed through the case wall at the 120mm exhaust
location on your case and these lock into the radiator, securing it and the fan to your chassis. All that
is left now is to associate the two fan headers to your motherboard. Voo-Ah-Lah!
I'm running Intel's i7-2600K at 3.4Ghz, and at idle the H60 runs at a cool 26C. Under load the number is
still a very cool 46C. I didn't run a check before dismantling the stock Intel cooler, but on spec those
numbers are 20 degrees below the air cooler in case,granted with the Cpu. Overclocked to 4.2Ghz, I got a reading
of 61C. Again, by comparison thats pretty darn cool, and just 2 degrees higher than the much more expensive
Corsair H70. I'm using Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard and this low profile cooler is just the baddest thing I've
ever seen on an assembled system, I like this much better than the big clunky incongruous round caps you
get with whether the H50 or H70.
